EPoS System Development for Major High Street Retailer

When this Retailer commissioned the development of a new Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) system they really didn't know what they wanted it to do. As the system development started to take shape, and with each demonstration of how it would work, the Retailer issued change request after change request. The project got into difficulty because the Systems Development Company lost effective control of the change request process and the Retailer simply continued to request even more changes.

Eventually the Retailer decided to cancel it because they believed that the Systems Development Company would never be able to deliver it.

My Report investigated both the original systems requirement and what had been developed so far in response to that requirement.

The case was settled out of court, in favour of the Systems Development Company.
